Ramsxor Group LLC’s Cultural Arm, Catch These Compliments®, Covers Tribeca Festival 2025

A Look Back at a Landmark Month in Storytelling, Identity, and Innovation

As the cultural media voice of Ramsxor Group LLC, Catch These Compliments® was proud to represent the Group at this year’s Tribeca Festival 2025 as credentialed media. Held throughout June in New York City, Tribeca Festival remains a premier platform for boundary-pushing storytelling across film, music, art, and conversation. This year, we were on the ground capturing the essence of the festival—from red carpets to world premieres, from live talks to transformative performances.

Immersive Storytelling and Groundbreaking Artistry

Our coverage kicked off with the World Premiere Listening Event for Hamlet, a one-night-only audio experience starring Daniel Kyri (Chicago Fire) and directed by Jeremy McCarter. Designed by Tony Award-winner Mikhail Fiksel, this adaptation brought the audience inside Hamlet’s mind—experiencing Shakespeare's classic through a uniquely sonic lens. The listening session, hosted at The Public Theater, was followed by a compelling onstage discussion with the creative team.

We also attended the World Premiere of We Are Pat, a standout film in the Spotlight+ category. Directed by Ro Haber, the documentary revisits and reclaims the legacy of the controversial 1990s SNL character Pat, originally portrayed by Julia Sweeney. In an era of evolving gender visibility, the film gathers queer and trans comedians—including Roz Hernandez, Nori Reed, and James Tom—to critically and compassionately reframe Pat’s place in pop culture. The premiere was preceded by a vibrant live comedy performance.

Icons, Animation, and Representation

In animation, we celebrated Captain Zero: Into the Abyss Part II, part of Whoopi Goldberg’s Curated Animated Shorts. This genre-blending action piece asks, “Who’s gonna save superheroes when they need saving?” and was a highlight of the shorts program.

We were thrilled to witness the return of a beloved franchise in a bold new format with How to Train Your Dragon (Live-Action). Directed by Dean DeBlois, this reimagining brings the timeless tale of Hiccup and Toothless to life with a fresh cast and stunning visuals. It was a major moment in this year’s Spotlight Narrative section.

Conversations That Move Culture

The festival also celebrated social justice with the presentation of the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award to Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. The event featured a live conversation between the congresswoman and Whoopi Goldberg, spotlighting the power of advocacy, voice, and storytelling.

In the realm of music and talk, we covered the live episode recording of Slate’s podcast Death, Sex & Money featuring host Anna Sale in conversation with actress Allison Williams (Get Out, Girls, M3GAN). Comedians Amelia Ritthaler and Evan Lazarus, hosts of the Girls Rewatch Podcast, also brought generational perspective to the table.

Other standout Tribeca Talks included Mark Ronson and Wyclef Jean reflecting on creativity, culture, and collaboration.

Music, Movement, and Memory

The music documentary Still Free TC offered an intimate portrait of artist Ty Dolla $ign and his relationship with his incarcerated brother, blending artistry and emotional depth. The screening was followed by a conversation with the artist.

Kid Cudi’s Neverland (World Premiere) was another festival highlight, along with his starring role in a chilling music video featured in the Shorts: Playlist program, co-starring Kiernan Shipka, Brittany Snow, and Haley Joel Osment.

Bold Futures on Screen

From RZA’s gritty action thriller One Spoon of Chocolate (starring Shameik Moore and RJ Cyler) to Room to Move—a raw, artistic documentary about choreographer Jenn Freeman’s journey with autism, executive produced by Amy Schumer—the festival showcased the intersections of identity, resilience, and artistry.

On June 7th, we also caught Steve Buscemi at the Tribeca Storytelling Summit, further reinforcing the festival’s role as a space for deep reflection and innovation.
